Another fun tid-bit from my drive west in 2008... Brendon and his buddy were driving cross country headed East with surf boards and an electric guitar strapped to the roof. We met at a gas starion in Nevada I think. What caught my eye was that between them in the front of this car that was packed to the gills was a beautiful orchid! (You can sort of make it out in the picture.) When I asked them about it they laughed and said, "Oh, that's nothing!" Then they opened up the back doors and inside, amidst the boxes, bundles and desk lamps were Lulu the pit bull a monster Iguana close to 4' long! Fortunately, the guys, the critters and the orchid & surfboards all made it to Omaha where Brendon, the fellow with the Iguana, is now a paramedic. Thank goodness for Facebook!  Brendon, what's your buddy's name and what did you do with the surf boards?

Jewelry Designer
Author and Speaker

Born and raised just outside Philadelphia, I moved to Chicago after college and San Jose in 2008. I now have two decades of experience in jewelry design including countless hours of mentoring by expert artisans and ten “hands on” years in fine jewelry manufacturing. As a result I bring a wealth of knowledge about materials, craftsmanship and style to the table. Beyond jewelry, I have a passion for words and the intentional use of language. I believe we create our experience in life and am writing a book on the topic because I am curious… What else is possible? ~ Suzanne Bayles

So Why a Blog?

This blog is for all of us. Selfishly, it’s a way for me to have all of my projects in one place so I can see progress over time & know your thoughts about them. As the blog grows it will provide practical info on both jewelry and the intentional use of language. Strange bedfellows perhaps.  Welcome to my world!

Gratitude

I am fortunate to have the love and support of family and friends across the country; one in particular has known me since I was barely old enough to ride a tricycle in her driveway. Much love to all!
